How Much Does Fence Repair Cost in Hollywood, FL?

Most fence repairs cost $300 to $900 in 2026, going by national figures. Small jobs like one board, a latch or a gate adjustment are $100 to $300. Big ones, with several posts or a section on the ground, are $900 to $2,500.

Price ranges are national figures published by HomeGuide for 2026, not our own quotes. In Hollywood and the rest of Broward County, local labor, material, permit paperwork and the conditions on your lot move the price. Last checked October 2026.

How much does it cost to fix a leaning fence?

Count the posts that have failed and you have most of the answer. A lean comes from the posts, not the panels. One or two bad posts is a standard repair. If nearly every post along a side is loose, it is cheaper to rebuild that side once than to pay for repeat visits.

Why is my fence leaning, and can it be fixed without replacing it?

Usually it can be fixed. Around Hollywood we see the same causes again and again. Wood posts decay or get eaten by termites right at the soil line. Footings poured too small let go when summer rain turns the sand soft and a storm gust pushes on a solid panel. Close to the ocean, steel posts and brackets rust through. When the panels themselves are sound, we set new posts and rehang what you already have.

How much does it cost to replace a rotted fence post?

By national figures, one or two posts cost $300 to $900. We detach the rails, dig out the old post and its concrete, pour a new footing, set the new post and fasten everything back. Roots, a sprinkler main beside the post or a high water table in the hole add time.

My gate sags and will not latch. Repair or replace?

A repair is enough most of the time. Start at the post the hinges hang on. When that post tips even slightly, the far end of the gate drops. Worn or corroded hinges and a frame pulled out of square are the other causes. We plumb or replace the post, brace the frame and move the latch so it catches. We replace the gate only when its frame is rotten or rusted out.

How much does a contractor charge to fix a broken gate latch?

National 2026 figures put a latch, hinge or small adjustment at $100 to $300. Companies generally charge a minimum for the trip, so it makes sense to have a loose board or a second gate looked at during the same call. East of U.S. 1, ask for stainless hardware. Plated latches corrode fast in salt air.

My fence posts moved after a rainy summer and the gate will not close. Can they be reset?

They can. Hollywood has no frost, so nothing pushes a post up out of the ground the way it does in cold states. Posts here go sideways. Weeks of rain loosen the sand around an undersized footing, the wind leans on the fence, and the post tilts. Pushing it upright and packing soil around it lasts until the next storm. We take the post out and set it again in a wider, deeper footing.

My fence line goes wavy every rainy season. Is it the soil or a bad installation?

It is the footings more often than the soil. Sand is a fair base when the concrete around each post is big enough, and it drains quickly. Waves appear when the holes were dug shallow, when the concrete collars are thin, or when wood rails twist as they cycle between wet and dry. Reset the bad posts in full-size footings and the line holds, in the same ground.

A branch bent my aluminum fence. Do I need a whole new panel?

Maybe not. It comes down to how your fence was made. If the rails and pickets are separate parts, we can change only the bent ones. If the section was welded at the factory, the section between two posts comes out as one piece. A photo by text is usually enough for us to tell.
