Repair it when the damage is in one stretch and the posts are firm. Replace it when repairs reach about half the price of a new fence or most posts are rotted, rusted or termite damaged.
Who pays for a fence between neighbors?
In Florida the owner who wants the fence normally pays. We have found no Florida statute that makes a residential neighbor pay half, so sharing is by agreement.
